DEVELOPING A SCRIPT IN PROGRESS

 

A 10-week, hands-on workshop designed to ready scripts for production by taking a close look at effective dramatic writing: In-class exercises, the reading and discussing of participants' scripts in a supportive setting, and a complete critique of each script in detail.

CHE'RAE ADAMS, Instructor
Che'Rae Adams is the Producing Artistic Director of the Los Angeles Writers Center, a writing teacher and a director. She has been the Development Executive with Playhouse Pictures Studios, Co-Artistic Director of the award winning Road Theatre Company, and Managing producer for the Los Angeles Women's Theatre Festival and worked in development for Showtime Networks & Alliance/Atlantis Film & TV. She has directed for Cincinnati Opera Outreach, Disney/ASCAP Musical Theatre Workshop, Highways Performance Space, The Los Angeles Edge of the World Theatre Festival, Venice Theatre Works, The Road Theatre Company, The Lee Strasberg Theatre, The Celebration Theatre, The Los Angeles Theatre Center, The National Black Theatre Festival, The HBO Workspace, The Duplex Cabaret in New York; The Aspen Comedy Festival, The Stella Adler Theatre, The Comedy Central Space, The John Anson Ford Theatre; The Syzygy Theatre Company, and The Hayworth Theatre.

  Vocal Coaching and Marketing for Your Professional Career is for female singers who are at the beginning stages of their careers and intermediate singers looking to sharpen their vocal ability. The class allows singers to grow as artists in a fun, nurturing environment, while giving them the business skills they need for a successful career in music. Molly Summer voice classes are affiliated with an established recording studio that creates and records demos for students.

MOLLY SUMMER: Vocal Coach
Molly Summer has been coaching voice since 2001 and was a vocal judge and member of The National Association for Record Industry Professionals and The Los Angeles Musicians Network. Known for her versatility of musical styles and three-octave range, Molly continues to work consistently in studio recordings for Pop, Gospel, and Country projects and is currently working with ASCAP composers Creative Horizons on a series of new musical recordings. She is a member of Actors Equity and the Screen Actors Guild, an active singer with The Academy for New Musical Theatre and is a member of the Hollywood Master Chorale.

THE BRASS TACKS OF ACTING ADULT SCENE STUDY

 


The Brass Tacks of Acting are the essential acting techniques that an actor needs to create authentic and compelling cold readings, auditions and performances. These tools are intuitive, simple, and efficiently connect you to your best work. You will learn thorough Script Analysis that reveals every clue in the script needed to book the job and improvisation techniques to make your work personal and committed. Students bring monologue, scenes and audition material to class, and cold readings are supplied each week.

LOREN E. CHADIMA, Instructor
Loren is an award winning director and acting coach whose passion is giving actors the skills go after their dreams and succeed in the businesses of acting and life. Her clients have been seen on television in Malcolm in the Middle, on film in Norbit with Eddie Murphy, on stage in Deaf West’s National Tour of Big River, as well as in numerous commercials. Loren is a graduate of the American Film Institute’s Directing Workshop for Women and has a Master’s Degree from the Tony award winning, Trinity Rep Conservatory. Her award-winning film, Cries from Ramah, won “Best Short Film” at the Sedona International Film Festival, “Best of the Fest” at the Rochester International Film Festival and qualified for the 79th Academy Awards. Loren is also the Director of The Wiz Kidz, television pilot and her feature debut, Creative Differences is currently in post production.
